Media Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 at City College Plymouth

Course description

Would you love to work in a creative industry? Perhaps working in in TV or radio? Maybe you'd prefer to be behind the scenes, working in communications or graphic design? Then a Media Apprenticeship could be for you! This Apprenticeship covers new entrant roles in a range of sectors, including TV, animation, interactive media, film and radio. As well as these traditional areas this Apprenticeship covers the growing role of digital technologies in changing the way that media content is shared and enjoyed by audiences.

Course content

The course content will include:

  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT
  • ERR - Employee Rights and Responsibilities.
  • Personal Learning and thinking skills (PLTS) - Independent enquiry, creative thinking, reflective thinking, team working, self-management and effective participation.

Entry requirements

Entry is via an initial assessment at the Work-based Learning Department. 


Assessment is continuous, both on and off the job.

Future opportunities

On completion you may wish to progress to an advanced media course at the College, or move into employment where you may benefit from enhanced career opportunities within a range of organisations.
