Course description

This is a highly practical course in which you will learn about performing, the music industry, using computer music systems to compose and record and developing your own musical sound.

  • Introduction to Production
  • Performance Skills and Practice
  • Production Skills and Practice
  • Producing and Performing to an Audience
  • Personal Project and Presentation

Entry requirements

To start on this course you need:


At least 2 GCSEs at grade D or above (including English) 
or
a relevant Level 1 qualification, including English and Maths requirements and tutor reference.


Applicants are auditioned.


If you will have lower or higher qualifications than the above
- If you do not have the above qualifications, you may be able to start on the Level 1 Music & Media course, before applying to move on to this Level 2 course.
- If you have at least 4 GCSEs at grades A* to C, you may be able to start on one of our Level 3 courses instead.

Future opportunities

After 1 year, you can achieve a UAL Level 2 Diploma in Music Performance and Production. This means you can apply for one of our Level 3 Music courses.
