A merit or distinction grade at BTEC Business First Diploma level or a minimum of 5 A* - C grade GCSEs, including C grades in English and Maths GCSEs. You need to be well motivated, able to work on your own at times, be able to plan the use of your time and to meet deadlines. It is not necessary to have studied any business related GCSEs.
Class activities will take a variety of forms. You may be asked to work individually or in groups, to research into or discuss a particular business situation. You will be given data to analyse, essays to write and TV programmes to watch.
There are many routes of progression from A level Business Studies. Colleges/Universities offer a wide variety of courses for the subject, both on its own or combined with other subjects. The combinations are too numerous to mention. Some students have chosen employment after A levels and the subject is, understandably, approved by employers.
