Management - Advanced Apprenticeship at Damar Training
Management apprenticeships have been created for people working in roles where they are responsible for planning and monitoring the work of staff and maintaining and developing the use of effective systems and processes.
Examples of jobs that management apprentices either do or are working towards include:
- Call centre team leader
- Hospitality and retail store manager
- Hotel shift supervisor
- Office manager
- Training/HR manager
- Hospital ward manager
Damar's management apprentices work in a wide range of sectors including: law, accountancy, healthcare, financial services, hospitality, property, media, manufacturing and distribution.
What you learn will depend on your job.
In all cases you will complete a Diploma in Management. This has two purposes. First, it will develop your knowledge and understanding of your area of work and the underpinning management theories that apply. Second it will ensure that you are applying your knowledge and understanding at work on a consistent and competent basis.
You will be tested in a number of ways. More formal tests and written work will demonstrate your knowledge and understanding. You will demonstrate competence across all of the main areas of your job via a portfolio of evidence (which can take a variety of forms). You will work on your portfolio, in partnership with your trainer and manager, over the duration of your apprenticeship.
Functional skills in English, maths and IT Unlike academic exams, these are designed to ensure that you have the skills in maths, English and IT that you need at work.
The Management Advanced Apprenticeship is suitable for staff who have more autonomy in their leadership role and will normally have the authority to plan and implement changes to processes and personnel.
