Site Joinery Apprenticeship Level 2 at CDC

Course description

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence demonstrated by an individual in the workplace. This Level 2 and 3 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations - Site Carpentry provides the opportunity for individuals who specialise in site carpentry to demonstrate their competence.  

Designed for people who are employed as apprentice joiners and multi-skilled
operatives.
 
Level 2 is aimed at people who have the relevant site experience and are ready
to be introduced to first and second fixing joinery. This will include installing side-hung doors, fitting skirting and architraves and installing wall and kitchen units.
 
 

Course content

Level 2 units:

Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace

Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace

Erecting Structural Carcassing Components in the Workplace

Installing First Fixing Components in the Workplace

Installing Second Fixing Components in the Workplace

Maintaining Non-structural Carpentry Work in the Workplace

Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace

Setting Up and Using Transportable Cutting and Shaping Machines in the Workplace  

 

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, you must ensure that individuals have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification.

  • Ongoing assessment of practical and written work
  • Portfolio of evidence to show your competency

Future opportunities

Achievement of this qualification provides opportunities to progress to further qualifications and training such as:

Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work SupervisionTechnical, supervisory and management qualifications or positions within their own organisations.
