Towards Independence at South & City College Birmingham

Course description

This course is aimed to develop your skills so you can be as independent as possible at home and in your community. You will work on individual goals, which could include handling money, using public transport, communication skills (speaking/signing, listening, reading and writing), using community facilities, practical life skills and confidence. The course is a mixture of practical skills and class-based sessions to improve your knowledge, skills and understanding and achieve your goals.

There are no specific entry requirements levels will be assessed during induction to ensure all learners are studying at the correct level.
