Business Venture with Entrepreneurship with Marketing Extended Diploma 3 at The Manchester College

Course description

If you have an entrepreneurial flair and want to develop your business skills further, but have also always been fascinated by the marketing and promotional side of the business world, this BTEC Level 3 Diploma could be the perfect course for you. You’ll look at a wide variety of topics surrounding both business strategies and operations, with a specific focus on how marketing and advertising interacts with this. From starting a small business to the law, finance and accounting of multinational firms, you’ll develop a number of different skills to help you in your future career. Each unit of the course will help you develop management skills and a strategic planning ability, with a focus on achieving a long-term career plan. You’ll also have the opportunity to join in with competitions and work-based projects with a number of large businesses in Manchester.

Financial information

You’ll complete a number of different project assignments at the end of each unit on this course, and these take a variety of forms. You may need to complete a role play for one unit, a written piece of course work for another and a combination of group work and individual presentations for a third!

If you’d like to continue developing your skills and expanding your knowledge of the business world, this diploma will give you the qualifications you need to apply for a university-level degree course. You could even stay with us at The Manchester College and complete a foundation degree in Business and Marketing, with an optional top-up year to earn a BA (Hons) degree. Any kind of marketing qualification will give you a unique set of abilities for the working world and you could find yourself employed as a market researcher or event manager, or be responsible for an advertising or promotions department in a large business.     • Nicholls Campus offers courses for school leavers, adults and university level students. Subject areas include business, care, IT, nursing and medical sciences. The campus is home to the Arden School of Theatre, offering professional training in the performing arts as part of The Manchester College. The campus also hosts courses in skills for life and independent living for students with learning difficulties.

      Nicholls Campus is a specialist centre for sport. It’s home to the Nicholls Community Football Centre of Excellence and the college’s Sports Academies in football, rugby and basketball.

      Ardwick is close to Manchester’s city centre and the city's universities. Nicholls Campus includes an impressive Grade II listed building with its own gardens. There’s a small park within walking distance of the campus and a green space across the road.

      The nearby Manchester Apollo is a 3,500 capacity live music venue. Sportcity and the City of Manchester Stadium are five minutes away by car. There are a post office, supermarket and other shops nearby. The campus is on a main bus route from the city centre and is close to Ardwick train station.
