Course description


Offering a chance to study other BTECs alongside it, this 100% coursework qualification prepares those interested in sport for higher education and a job in sport. Having a vocational context means that we study the wide range of sporting roles within the community and enable students to develop the necessary writing, researching and practical skills to succeed in the world of work - be that in sport, as a manager, working in an office or taking on a more practical employment.




Course content

Topics include: Anatomy and Physiology , Assessing Risk in Sport, Fitness Training and Programming, Sports Coaching, Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise, Practical Individual Sports.



Entry requirements

Level 2 BTEC Sport – Merit or GCSE PE grade C or above.


Completion of 7 Units.


Future opportunities

Students studying Level 3 Sport BTEC courses have gone on to university to study degrees in Sport Development, Sports Journalism, Physiotherapy, Physical Education. Job opportunities include Physiotherapist (if studied in conjunction with sciences), Sports Therapist, Elite Sports Officer, Community Sports Coach, Sport Development Officer, PE Teacher, Specialist Coach (e.g. strength & conditioning), Nutritionist, Sports Scientist, Outdoor Adventure Leader, Sports Analyst, Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor.
