Business/IT Level 2 at The McAuley Catholic High School

Course description

This course is suitable for students who:

  • are interested in Business/ICT and
  • require another year of study in order to secure the grades needed to apply for traditional Level 3 (A level) courses.
You will get the opportunity to study Level 3 material in Business and ICT up to Pass grade. This will give you an insight into the demands of A level study in an accessible way and will help inform your decision on whether to go on to A levels at the end of Y12. During the course, you will have the opportunity to re-sit GCSE Maths and/or English as required.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or aboveStudents can apply for this course without GCSE English and/or Maths grade C or above

Future opportunities

Many Business Studies students go on to study the subject at university. Others have chosen to specialise in key aspects of the course such as Accounting and Finance, Human Resources Management, Marketing, Economics or other related degrees.

Many IT students go on to study the subjects at A Level or university. Some will specialise in many smaller areas ranging from Website Production, Animation to general Media Production.

After further A level studies, many different career paths are open to students including Business Management, Accountancy, Law, Banking, Website, IT or Media related etc.
