Science (Applied) BTEC National Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Coppice Performing Arts School
A Level 3 Vocational qualification to allow students to develop deep, specialist, practical skills and understanding.
Course details & assessment:
The Edexcel Level 3 BTEC National Award in Applied Science consists of three core units:
- Fundamentals of Science
- Working in the Science Industry
- Scientific Practical Techniques
There is an option to select further specialist units from:
- Physiology of Human Body System
- Physiology of Human Regulation & Reproduction
- Diseases and Infections
This is a coursework based subject with no final exam.
The minimum entry requirement for Level 3 study is 5 GCSEs A*-C including English and Mathematics; these should be in at least 4 different subjects. You will receive guidance about which pathway will be most suited to your needs which will be based on your anticipated GCSE Point Score. If you have a higher Point Score you will be encouraged to take a more academic route and if your Point Score is lower you may wish to choose a more vocational pathway. However, these options will be discussed in your admission interview.
Specific entry requirements:
The course is suitable for students who have successfully achieved a Level 2 BTEC First in principles of Science and Application of Science at Merit or above, or GCSE Science and Additional Science at Grade C or above.
