Electrical/Electronic Engineering BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at Burnley College

Course description

This course prepares you for future employment working with programmable logic controllers and microcontrollers. Units include: Electrical and Electronic Principles, Electronic Devices and Circuits, Microcontrollers and Programmable Controllers, Fault Finding, Analogue Electronics, Communication for Engineering Technicians and Digital Electronics. All topics are delivered with relevance to industry requirements.

• Lloyds Tensile Training Machine
• Autoclave
• Rapid Prototyping Machine/3D Printer
• Fully equipped electronic workshops
• MasterCAM and Cambridge Engineering Software
• Autodesk inventor

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above including Mathematics OR a relevant Level 2 Diploma with a Merit or above grade and a GCSE grade C in Mathematics.

Assessment

Assessment is via coursework, practical tasks and observations.
