Course description

A BTEC First Extended Certificate is a Level 2 qualification. BTEC qualifications are designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications. They have been developed to provide the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to prepare learners for employment.

The Edexcel Level 2 BTEC Extended Certificate is a 180 guided learning hour qualification which offers a bite-sized opportunity for learners to acquire a Business qualification. It is the equivalent of 2 GCSEs at grade C or above.

The business world is an exciting and dynamic place and there are a wide variety of careers available including marketing, accounting, banking, customer service, administration and retailing.

A BTEC qualification offers students an opportunity to explore how businesses behave. It is a vocational qualification and the emphasis of the course is on investigation and learning by doing. This is suitable qualification for those students who have yet to meet the criteria for studying AS levels.

This course is 100% coursework. You will be required to submit an assignment for each module above.

You can progress to an A Level in Applied Business, or continue along the BTEC route and study for a BTEC National Diploma in Business or another vocational subject.

Alternative you may seek employment in the area of business administration or clerical/office work.
