Accounting at Andover College

Course description

A Level Accounting is a two year course exploring aspects of accounting. Successful completion of the first year leads to the award of an AS Level in Accounting, and progression to the second year is dependent on achieving a minimum of a grade D at AS.

The format of this qualification is exam based. This encompasses a total of 2 exams, one for each level of study. Learning takes place through group discussion, practical activities and research, delivered by highly experienced and qualified staff with a wealth of knowledge and industry experience to share. Our classrooms are bright, cheerful learning environments with the opportunity to use technology to enhance the learning experience.
Guest speakers visit through the year providing links between theory and the workplace.

In order to succeed in this course, the successful student will be highly motivated and organised. They will review their weekly studies to ensure a full understanding of the work they have covered. Prior understanding is not necessary for this subject but completing practice activities on a regular basis will be important to embed knowledge.

Not just for those exploring a career in Accounting, this course will provide skills used by managers in business on a day to day basis, and the learning will be invaluable throughout your life.

5 A* - C grades at GCSE including a grade C or above in English Language.Interview Required: Yes
