Course content

Public Services covers a wide range of subjects and topics and some of the areas you will learn about as part of this course include:
 Government, policies and public services
 Leadership
 Understanding discipline in the public services
 Command and control in the public services
 Media affairs in the public services
 Crime and its effects
 Custodial care services

Entry requirements

To access this course you will require five A* - C GCSE grades including Maths and English.

Assessment

This course uses a mixture of practical and theoretical learning. You will gain an insight into what it might be like to work in a wide range of public service roles and understand if this might be an option for you.
 
Although there is a strong practical element to this course it is important to note that there are some exams and some criteria that will be assessed in exam conditions.

Future opportunities

You can also convert this course into UCAS point or to strengthen applications for employment with public service providers such as the police or probation service.
