Art and Design A2 at Queensbury School

Course description

Students are encouraged to employ a wide range of graphic and painting media, techniques and approaches and to extend their repertoire of skills and approaches through experiment.

Course content

At A2 you will be developing your own style, using the skills and knowedge from AS to work independently on a project of your choice.  The personal study is 1000-3000 word written study into the work of artists that relate to your practical project.

Entry requirements

The subject is open to any student who wants to study a creative subject. You will normally have achieved a grade C at GCSE however, if you feel you are creative and possess a good general level of skill please discuss your suitability with a member of the Art Department.

Assessment

1 personal project with related personal study.

Controlled assignment (exam)

Future opportunities

Degree or HND courses in Fine Art, Illustration, Photography, Fashion, Surface Pattern, Animation, Games Design, Film, Interior and 3D Design. This qualification will also support career choices in many areas including exhibition and theatre design, make-up, education, advertising, Art Galleries and Museums, media, architecture, fashion and product design.
