Hair and Beauty Level 1 at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College

Course description

This qualification is intended for learners who wish to explore their interest in the Hair & Beauty sector. The course will help you to gain an insight into the industry, as well as learn useful basic skills and relevant background knowledge.

Course content

Work during this course is of a practical nature and learners will complete assignment tasks that involve researching information about the industry, exploring trends and fashions in the Hair & Beauty sector.

Entry requirements

Learners are required to have 4 GCSE D-G grades. Consideration will be given to learners who do not hold the required grades however.

Assessment

Assessment is on going, allowing you to work at your own pace. You will be assessed by practical observations, assignment tasks and written tests.

Financial information

We recommend that you purchase a Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy kit and uniform; order forms are provided upon enrolment

We offer a bursary that students can apply for help with costs that are associated with a course. This could be help with the cost of travel, books, materials, equipment, uniforms, childcare and examination and registration fees. Future opportunities

Upon completion of this qualification ideally you will progress onto the NVQ/VRQ Level 2 qualification.

Further information

Learners will be expected to attend approximately three days per week. A minimum of 95% attendance is required.Upon successful completion in your first year you will gain a Level 1 qualification.
