IT Application Specialist Apprenticeship Level 2 at West Lancashire College
Our Apprenticeship programmes are delivered by our partner Intraining North West at West Lancashire College.
Through a greater understanding of IT tools and techniques employees will become more efficient in their use of time and more effective in their role. Employees must already use a computer routinely in their job and be keen to build on the skills that they already have.
The programme has two options for the final unit, either use of word processing or spreadsheets depending on the focus of the employee's job role.
Courses are roll on roll off basis
Sample of programme content:
Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship
This programme includes the following units:
• Improving productivity using IT
• Understanding the potential of IT
• Develop personal and team effectiveness using IT
• IT user fundamentals
• IT security for users
• IT communication fundamentals
• Using email
• Personal information management software
• IT Software fundamentals
• Specific software
Then one of the following units depending on the employee job role:
• Word processing software
• Spreadsheet software
Preferably A-C GCSE in Maths and English, if not learners will study Functional Skills English and Maths alongside their apprenticeship.
Assessment and delivery will be undertaken by an assessor who will observe you in the workplace, obtain written statements from managers, one to one work, coursework and portfolio building and collecting of evidence of work completed.
Learners may wish to progress on to study higher level qualifications, progress in their current role or career.
Promotion from within, fully qualified to apply for jobs in the sector they have gained the qualification in.
