This is not a beginner’s course so you will need to have completed a Level1 course or have experience in using Word, Excel and the Internet either in a work capacity or for home use. You will need to discuss this with the tutor before hand as this course requires Tutor approval. We also require that your Literacy and Numeracy be at least Entry Level 3. This is necessary so that you can understand instructions and produce documents and apply basic numeracy principles when creating spreadsheets. If you do not have documentary proof of this then you will be required to sit an online assessment to have your level checked.

You are assessed by producing a portfolio of evidence gathered from classroom exercises and group work projects.. The portfolio is assessed by the Tutor and then reviewed by a moderator from the exam board who will confirm the result. Certificates are issued after the moderator has agreed the results. You are given the opportunity to set your own learning goals in the Individual Learning Plan during the induction session.
