Product Design (3D Design) A Level at Stationers Crown Woods Academy

Course description

A hard working student who wishes to develop your critical and creative side. You will be part of a group learning from each other, reacting to the ideas and comments of your peers and motivated by getting the most out of the amazing CAD/CAM facilities we now have in William Morris School. Everyone has the chance to create truly amazing work.

Course content

A successful course that is dynamic, creative and at times demanding. Product Design will provide progression through AS and A Level and on to a related area of study at a higher level. You will develop skills in design, manufacture, drawing, CAD/CAM and computer software. In addition you will study designers and their
designs which may include visits to galleries and exhibitions. Areas studied include: Design and innovation, Product Analysis, Human Responsibility, Materials and Components, Industrial Practices. The qualification is split equally between Design and Making and the written exam.

Entry requirements

Grade C in any DT subject (Graphics, Product Design, Resistant Materials, Food, Systems & Control or Textiles).

Future opportunities

Architect, Cartoonist, Textile Designer, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Photographer, Product Designer, Marketing Manager, Fashion Designer, Stage Designer, Costume Designer and Window Dresser or work in advertising.
