Fabrication/Welding Advanced Apprenticeship at West Anglia Training Association

Course description

You will complete an Advanced Apprenticeship in Fabrication/Welding Engineering, you will complete your basic engineering training at your local college on a day release basis. You will complete key skills and an NVQ level 3 qualification during on-the-job work based assessments. Some typical units may be: Health&Safety Communication&Teamwork Manual Metal Arc Welding Joining Sheet Metal You need to be employed to complete this programme, WATA can assist you in finding a work placement.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, all candidates will be initially assessed and interviewed by WATA. It is desirable that you have some GCSE’s and it is an advantage if these are in Maths, English&Science subjects, but qualificatio

Financial information

WATA can access Government funding to support this qualification as part of a work based Apprenticeship programme. You will need to be employed to complete this training, your ‘Sponsor Company’ will contribute to the cost of your programme.

Future opportunities

There is clear progression both to and from this NVQ. This qualification forms a component of SEMTA Advanced Apprenticeship framework and will allow progression to higher levels. For example this qualification allows progression onto the Level 4 Engineering Management NVQ and other relevant Engineering NVQs and VRQs.
