OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Certificate in Health and Social Care at The Astley Cooper School

Course description

This course gives you the opportunity to develop essential knowledge, transferable skills and personal skills necessary for higher education and/or employment.  You will build your skills, knowledge and understanding of the care sector through the use of focused activit6ies including presentations, simulations, role plays and scenarios.  The three portfolios of work focus on Communication, Equality, Diversity and Rights in Health and Social Care and Health Care.

 

 

Course content

There is no written external examination for this course.

Entry requirements

You need to have five GCSEs at Grade C or above.  It is essential that you have a grade C in GCSE English Language.

Assessment

You will follow this course with two or three other As/A2 levels or an Advanced Diploma and, additionally, the compulsory core such as PSHE, RE, PE/Games.

 

 

Future opportunities

This course is a good grounding for study at university or college. You could study work-related and occupational qualifications in Health, Social Care and Early Years. Alternatively, you could work in Health, Social Care and Early Years related roles.

Further information

This course requires you to work independently. You will be required to research and analyse information and give your opinions through extended writing and produce essay style portfolios.
