Physical Education AS & A Level at Felpham Community College

Course description

This exciting course will provide the individual student with the opportunity to build on their existing skills and to explore new areas in physiology, psychology and socio-cultural studies.

This work enables the learner to educate themselves and others so that healthy lifestyles can be adopted.

Lessons will adopt an active, practical angle so that students are able to relate the theory to the sporting reality. Practical work can be undertaken in sports.

Entry requirements

A minimum of five A* to C at GCSE including grade B or above in PE if studied

Students must be actively competing in at least one sport, on a regular basis outside of college.


2 exam papers (2 hours each) consisting of a range of multiple choice, short and long answer questions from each component (70%).

NEA - Practical unit, consisting of 1 assessed area from sports. 1 written evaluation of performance will also be undertaken (30%).
