Course description

The BTEC Performing Arts will allow you to explore the multi-faceted world of performing arts by educating and training you in a range of skills, techniques and disciplines. The qualification will give you insight into the different career paths that someone interested in the performing arts may want to follow, and can help you progress in an exciting career or move onto further study.A course in Performing Arts offers a unique opportunity in the curriculum for students to identify and solve real problems by working within a team and improving their presentation skills. This syllabus allows students to work in a wide range of contexts relating to their personal interests. The course is intended to be of interest to a wide range of candidates including those intending to directly follow a higher education course or career in the Performing Arts or an associated area.Those with other interests and aspirations can also benefit from the many transferable skills inherent in the study of this subject. Performing Arts develops candidates' organisational skills and their capacity for imaginative, innovative thinking, creativity and independence. These are skills which will be highly prized by any employer or University.
