Level 2 Diploma in Information Technology (Specialist) at Develop
Globally and in the UK, the Creative and digital industries are growing every year. This qualification offers you the opportunity to learn skills in the creative and the digital world. This course will inspire you to become a producer of technology rather than just a consumer.
There are a range of specialist units available to you so you can tailor the course to best suit your interests. At the end of the course you will have developed a digital portfolio which will enable you to apply for jobs with something practical to impress future employers with.
Specialist units include developing mobile applications, digital animation, digital graphics, computer networks, software development, installing and maintain hardware, developing websites and much, much more.
Throughout the course, you will also learn employability skills such as project management, independent learning and business awareness.
For the Level 2 Diploma in Information Technology (Specialist) course you must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSE's A-D including English and Maths.
You must also be able to produce a written reference from your previous school / college. Other references will be accepted depending on individual circumstances.
Each unit will be assessed against grading criteria set by the awarding body. A variety of assessment methods are available such as performance observation, written work, case studies and projects. There will also be some external assessment marked by the awarding body.
If you are 16-18, there are no fees to pay
If you are over 19, the fee will be £1650
The Edexcel Level 2 Diploma in Information Technology (Specialist) provides the skills, knowledge and understanding for Level 2 learners to progress to:
- Other level 2 vocational qualifications
- Academic qualifications, such as GCSE or GCE in ICT or Computing
- Level 3 qualifications, such as the Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Nationals in IT or an IT/Creative ...Media apprenticeship
- Employment within the information technology industry and/or areas within the Creative industries, such as developing computer animations
