Product Design - Graphics A Level at Ormiston Forge Academy

Course description

Students will complete a series of three half-term assignments in year one, focusing on investigating an existing product, designing a completely new product for large-scale production, and making a prototype to a given design brief. In year two, students build on this knowledge and complete their major project, where they will design, model and make a prototype for a product of their own choice. There is an exam at the end of each year based on the theory that pupils will have picked up during their studies. It is essential that pupils have a commitment to working independently.

This qualification will support candidates working towards a career such as product designer, manufacturing industry and anything that requires analysis of products.
