Entry requirements

5 A*-C grades in different GCSE subjects. Grade C in English and Maths beneficial. No KS4 IT qualification needed but if taken you require a C grade of equivalent

Future opportunities

The course uses non-specialist software and students would benefit from having this software at home. There is the opportunity for all students to use the ICT suites at school both during lunch and after-school sessions. Students have found it extremely beneficial to spend a few hours each week after school making sure their coursework is up to date and on target, and it is advised that all students arrange sessions after school on a regular basis at the beginning of Year 12.

Further information

The course has been very successful with continually high ALPs grades since its introduction. There is a large element of coursework which requires students to work well independently and requires time spent after school working on coursework. The exam elements of the course require students to understand ICT systems, applications and implications.
