Art and Design Level 3 BTEC Diploma 90 at Bromley College of Further & Higher Education

Course description

On the Diploma course (equivalent to one and a half A levels or three AS levels), you will have the opportunity to experiment with aspects of graphic design, digital design and media, illustration, 3D design, fine art and fashion & textiles.

Contextual studies, art & design histories and drawing development underpin all aspects of this rewarding course.

This course is hard work and challenging, deadlines must always be met, units must be passed, it is also creative, fun and very rewarding.

All studies are directly relevant to the creative industries and the knowledge and skills learnt on this course provide pathways to university or employment within the arts.

During the course you are expected to develop a high degree of independence in your learning to allow you to underpin and enhance your learning experience. You are expected to be dedicated, meet all deadlines and have exemplarily attendance and punctuality.

Entry requirements

You must have 5 GCSEs at grades A* - C including English language and Art or a BTEC Diploma in Art and Design (Merit or Distinction) with GCSE English at C level.

Selection is by interview and appraisal of your portfolio of art and design work.

Course Fees: 16-18 £0.00

Additional costs:

At enrolment you will be required to pay for an art pack and contribute towards resources that you will use throughout the year

Future opportunities

Successful completion of the course allows progression on to BTEC Level 3 180 credit Diploma in Art & Design (equivalent to 3 A Levels).

This in turn allows progression on to University to do a foundation degree, a Higher National Diploma in a related subject or employment.
