Pre-apprenticeship Level 1 Plumbing at Garforth Academy

Course description

This qualification focuses on fundamental plumbing practical skills and knowledge. Successful completion of the qualification will ensure that the learner will have gained an understanding of the core skills and knowledge required by a plumber working within the plumbing sector. The qualification does not require occupational evidence.

Who is this qualification for?

Learners who may have limited prior knowledge and understanding of the plumbing sector. Learners who are thinking about plumbing as a career but would like some experience of the job role first.

How is this qualification delivered?

This qualification has a theory and practical content. Therefore it is will be delivered in a work-shop and a classroom environment.

How is this qualification assessed?

All assessments within this qualification are externally set (by EAL), Centre marked assignments and practical assessments.

 

 

 

Entry requirements

Minimum Grade 2 and above in English and Maths

It is highly recommended that students choosing Plumbing also choose a Garforth Academy trade specific course in Site Carpentry or Painting & Decorating to increase their opportunities of future employment.

Future opportunities

Future learning links are currently being developed to allow for NVQ Level 3 to be followed.
