Sociology AS/A2 Level at Cecil Jones College

Course description

Sociology covers a wide range of topics but it is essentially the study of human behaviour including the organisation of society, and the influences of gender, social class, ethnicity and age on our times. You will study family, the household and education. Religion, crime and deviance and sociological research methods. The emphasis is on modern British society with reference made to Britain in the past.

Entry requirements

Five A* - C including a B in English.

Assessment

You will learn through a variety of theory based activities and sit an examination at the end of the academic year.

Future opportunities

This course can lead you on a career in a broad range of different sectors including opportunities in human resource management, marketing, public administration, social work and public services, for example the police.
