IT Level 3 (Software) Subsidiary Diploma at Northumberland College
This course is for people who are looking to progress onto employment in the IT industry or into University.
You will study units including advanced spreadsheet and database skills, mobile app development, web design, advanced development skills for software and games design. Ideal if you want to develop the skills required for employment in the IT sector.
You should have four GCSEs at Grade C or above including IT or a relevant Level 2 qualification.
Your progress will be assessed internally through the production of a portfolio of assignment work. You will be advised of your progress throughout the course with individual learning plans and regular personal tutorial sessions.
After completing the course you will be encouraged to stay on after your first year in order to complete the second year of the course. Beyond this, there is opportunity to complete an HND in computing as well as other qualifications such as Microsoft and Cisco courses. Students completing year two may wish to apply for a place at university.
