Traineeships at CMS Vocational Training Ltd
Young people on Traineeships follow personalised programmes that are tailored to their particular needs, interests and aspirations – focusing on helping them to reach their intended ‘destination’ – Apprenticeships, skilled work or further education.
Personalised programmes should incorporate three key components:
- work preparation training
- work experience
- functional skills in English & Maths
The design of specific programme is based on initial assessment and includes on-going advice/guidance, assessment and support.
The Traineeship will cater to the learner's individual needs and vocational aspirations. It will cover 3 main areas:
English & Maths
Learners are required to undertake Maths and English qualifications whilst on a traineeship unless they have the GCSE grade A*-C / Functional Skill Level 2 exemptions.
1 days attendance per week is required for this element.
Over the course of the 6 month programme you will gain valuable work experince from a valued employer. The employer will assist in making sure that you have the necessary skills to move forward in your chosen vocational area.
An assessor from your chosen vocational area will come out and see you at your placement provider to ensure you are gaining the skills needed for your chosen industry.
During this element of the traineeship, learners will work towards:
- Creating a CV
- Gaining useful interview skills
- Improving confidence
- Team building skills
- Career Planning
- Learning from work placement
- Exploring job opportunities
Age 16-23. There are no other formal entry requirements for this programme.
There will be a variety of assessment methods within the Traineeship. These will include:
Voice recordings (e-portfolio)
There are no costs to you.
Learners who are eligible can access the 16-19 Bursary.
Traineeships cover all vocational areas (e.g. Business Admin, Accountancy, Childcare, Warehousing, Animal Care, Health & Fitness, Customer Service etc.)
