Production Arts (Arts Management) BTEC Level 3 Certificate/Extended Certificate at Exeter College

Course description

This course is ideal if you wish to focus more on the organisation, planning and implementation of live performance projects and events rather than performing. In your first year you will study the Certificate progressing to the Subsidiary Diploma in your second year.

Course content

You will work together to plan and manage several events throughout the year. Projects can range from working front of house to implementing marketing strategies for real events, including festivals.

Entry requirements

You need at least five GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English) plus experience in the arts, particularly drama, music and performing arts or experience of events management would be useful.

Assessment

Whilst there are no exams for this qualification, you will need to be willing to do coursework regularly which will mainly be in the form of written logs, evaluations, research, planning and plenty of support for performances and events of all kinds.

 

Future opportunities

Initially, in your second year, you can progress to the Level 3 Extended Certificate in Production Arts (Arts Management) and then you could progress onto higher education courses in arts or events management or alternatively seek employment in the industry.
