Performing Arts BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Manshead CE Academy

Course description

The BTEC Level 3 in Performing Arts gives an engaging and stimulating introduction to study of the sector. It is intended as an Applied General qualification for post-16 learners with an interest in performing arts who wish to continue their education through applied learning. It aims to equip learners with transferable knowledge and skills for progression to higher education. It will be assessed through both internally and externally set assessments.

 Investigating Practitioners’ Work

 Developing Skills and Techniques

 Group Performance Workshop

 Performing Arts in the Community

 Individual Performance Commission

 Final Live Performance to an Audience

Other units will be selected depending on the cohort of students. Some units focus on the drama aspects of Performing Arts whereas others focus on the dance aspect.

Entry requirements

Grade 4 or higher in English

Future opportunities

The course will develop a deeper understanding of a wide range of Performing Arts and help those students hoping to study Performing Arts in Higher Education. It gives experience to those who wish to pursue a vocation in Performing Arts.
