Automotive Studies Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles Level 2 at Lowestoft College

Course description

This Level 2 qualification covers the technical needs for today’s motor vehicle repair industry, including the diagnosis of non-complex systems faults. It provides essential knowledge for service technicians working on light vehicles (cars and vans) in all types of garages, dealerships and maintenance depots.

Entry requirements

The entry requirements for Level 2 are three GCSEs at grade C or above (to include maths and English), or the Level 1 Motor Vehicle Diploma.

Assessment

There will be a variety of assessments throughout the course - the majority of these will be practical and there will be online assignments and online exams. All IMI work will be completed on the IMI online ePortfolio system.

Future opportunities

The normal progression from Level 2 is to go on to the Level 3 full-time or Level 3 Apprenticeship.
