A2 Physical Education at The Beacon School
Theoretical content makes up 70% of the exam weighting and includes a study of anatomy and physilogy, skill acquisition and a contemporary study of sport in society. A practical performance grade is required in two activities as either a performer, official or coach.
You could take this course with other advanced level courses such as Science to prepare for higher education in areas of Sport Studies, Recreation, Exercise and Science or more general higher education courses. With further training you could go into a job related to Physical Education such as a Physiotherapist, Teacher, Exercise or Fitness Trainer. The course will also help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially in the sporting sectors.
