Information Technology (Mobile App Design) BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at The City of Liverpool College

Course description

The BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Mobile App Design is a fast paced practical, work-related course. You will learn cutting edge, industry standard skills by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you will develop the skills you need to progress to either seek employment or progress on to University. The course runs for two years full time and is the equivalent to three A-Levels.

What will I learn?

You will gain a valuable insight into the world of Mobile App Design, which will include: Imaging Software, programming, User Interface Design, User Experience, Idea generation, Asset creation and management. You will also be completing live briefs and building a professional portfolio as well as using and developing skills in the latest industry standard software.

Entry requirements

You will normally need to have at least one of the following:

  • a BTEC First Certificate or Diploma in a related subject.
  • at least 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C, including English or maths.
  • appropriate work experience.

As part of the interview process, we will be assessing your ability to represent your ideas visually and verbally. If you have a portfolio or samples of any visual work and or relevant experience please bring them with you to interview.
