Future opportunities

Where could this lead?

Geographers are employable! More people leaving University with Geography related degrees find Graduate Jobs in their first year than from any other degree.

There are many jobs that lead directly on from Geography such as Cartographer, Surveyor, Environmental Consultant, GIS Systems, Town Planner, Meteorologist, Hazard Management, Flood Defence and Tourism.

In addition to this many employers see Geography as an important subject as it shows that you have problem solving skills, can work well with others and have a wide, well-reasoned outlook on issues and as such the most popular employment sector after University is in management and graduate training programs.
