Construction and the Built Environment 90-Credit Diploma - Level 3 at Crawley College

Course description

You’ll be introduced to the construction industry at a supervisory level, with a clear progression route into management. You’ll explore the essentials of sustainable construction, with an emphasis on the science and materials of the built environment. Higher level mathematical techniques will also be developed, preparing you for positions of responsibility in the construction trade.

Course content

This course is designed to introduce you to the construction industry at a supervisory level or to progress into management studies.

You will study:

  • Health, safety and welfare in construction and the built environment
  • Sustainable construction
  • Mathematics in construction and the built environment
  • Science and materials in construction and the built environment
  • A range of optional units relating to the built environment

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C, including English or Maths. You may also have completed a Level 3 programme in a construction trade.

Future opportunities

You will achieve a nationally recognised qualification that provides career development and progression to a Higher National Certificate/Diploma or Foundation degree courses.  You may wish to progress as a Higher Apprentice, where you will earn while you learn.
