Learning for Employment & Progression Pathway (LEAP) Entry 3 at Brooklands College

Course description

The aim of this programme is to offer students a focused approach to moving on into further study or employment. The Certificate in Workskills supports work experience and the vocational option chosen.

Students are encouraged to develop their own confidence in personal and social skills, communication and teamwork.

Students will undertake work experience at an appropriate placement one day per week. Students will discuss and plan their progression pathways with their personal tutor.

- Preparation for Employment
- Health and Safety
- Functional Maths, English and ICT at the appropriate level
- Workskills

Entry requirements

This course is designed for those with Entry Level qualifications. A satisfactory school / college report and a Learning Disability Assessment or ECHP written by a Pathways adviser is desirable. 

Suitability for the course is to be determined at interview. Students who have not attended the college before should consider transition planning with the college, to include taster sessions and attendance at Summer School.

Financial information

Students may need to buy boots/sportswear/overalls or special footwear for their work placement.

Future opportunities

Students may wish to move on to a Level 1 college course or into employment.
