Physical Education - GCSE at Culford School

Course description

Pupils are given the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of PE through selected practical activities, to develop their knowledge and understanding of the different factors that affect participation and performance and demonstrate their relationship, to understand the role of rules and conventions in selected activities, promote understanding of the health benefits and risks associated with physical activities, develop the skills necessary to analyse and improve performance and support their personal and social development through adopting roles in selected activities when working with others.

Course content

Areas of study - exercise, training, safety aspects, risk assessment in physical sport, applied anatomy and physiology


Assessment is by theory examination [40%] and practical assessment [60%]
