Further Mathematics at Sir William Robertson Academy

Course description

Do you have a passion for Mathematics? Have you ever considered why the work of Sir Isaac Newton is debated upon throughout the mathematical world? If so, then Further Mathematics is the A Level for you!

Maths is such a vast and varied subject. There is always something new to learn and thus not all topics can be placed in a single A Level. Should you wish to take Further Maths at A Level, you will be required to achieve a Grade A or above in GCSE Maths.

Students will be required to complete twelve modules throughout the two years of A Level to achieve the Maths and Further Maths qualifi cation. The Further Mathematics modules will centre upon Further Pure (FP), Mechanics (M), Statistics (S) and Decision Maths (D), and will provide students with a diverse and thoroughly challenging programme of study. The modules in Further Mathematics will extend the knowledge from Single Mathematics to a higher level.
