BTec Lvl 3 Subsidiary Diploma Business (Retail Pathway) at Warlingham School
As the BTEC Retail course no longer exists, but was popular and successful at Warlingham School, the Business Studies Department are introducing the BTEC Level 3 Advanced Subsidiary Diploma in Business with a retail slant, known as the Retail Pathway. This new and exciting course provides a specialist work-related programme of study that covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in business. As the course has a Retail slant to it, it is particularly, but not exclusively, suitalbe for students interested in gaining employement in the retail sector or undertaking further study of Retail Management at University. Students study four core Business units and two specialist Retail units. The four core units are delivered with a focus on the REtail Sector, using Retail Sector businesses as case studies. Students will also take part in visits to and have speakers from leading retail outlets. Core Units: 1. The Business Environment 2. Business Resources 3. Introduction to Marketing 4. Business Communication Retail Pathway Units (two from) 1. Understanding Retailing 2. Visual Merchandising in Retail 3. Fashion Retailing 4. Food Retailing Assessment Format The Diploma will be assessed through the completion of coursework. There are no examinations.
Five GCSE's at C or above (preferably including Business) or BTEC First Diploma
The BTEC Level 3 Advances Subsidiary Diploma in Business (Retail Pathway) is ideal preparation for degree level study in a wide range of courses at university or for gaining employment in business related careers such as Marketing, Finance, Administration, Retail management, ICT, Human Resources and Sales.
