Hairdressing Level 2 Diploma at Warwickshire College Group
This one year, full-time hairdressing course is for those who wish to take their first steps towards following a career in the hairdressing industry.
- Practical skills – colouring, cutting and styling
- Related theory
- Retail promotions and aftercare
- A Functional Skill/GCSE/Enterprise qualification
- Competition work
- Work experience in a vocational related area
You will need to have four GCSEs at grade D (or above) or equivalent (which should ideally include English and Science). You may also apply for this course if you have obtained a Level 1 Hairdressing qualification. You should also have good communication skills, an outgoing personality and the ability to work as part of a team. Entry for all students is subject to a successful interview.
Continual assessment throughout the course/ written assignments/ online tests/ practical assessments are undertaken.
Once qualified, you may progress onto the Level 3 Hairdressing course, also excellent opportunities exist to work as a junior stylist in a hairdressing salon. Other opportunities include working as a technician within a private company or self-employment.
