IT BTEC National Diploma at Fearnhill School

Course description

This two-year course will allow you to study ICT in a

practical manner, increasing the skills already gained in

the use of computer software. The course will give you a

good grounding in both the use of and the theory behind

ICT, developing your skills and knowledge through

assessed assignments.

All of the assignments, presented in a range of ways, are

marked internally and then moderated externally.

The range of units that could be studied is:

- Communication and Employability Skills for IT

- Business Information Systems

- Information Systems

- IT Project

- Advanced Database Skills

- Advanced Spreadsheet Skills

- IT Systems Analysis and Design

- Digital Graphics and Computers

- Computer Animation

- e-Commerce

- Impact of the Use of IT on Business

The course is a natural progression for students who have

taken a BTEC First and do not want to take the more

theoretical AS computing course. It can be taken without

having previously done the BTEC First.
