Veterinary Nursing - Level 3 Diploma (Employed) at Askham Bryan College

Course description

This course is for those already employed in a veterinary practice who want to train to become a registered veterinary nurse.

Course content

 Units including operational and functional requirements of the working environment, animal anatomy, health and welfare. Effective nursing care including infection control, management and support of medical and surgical patients and professional registration.

The course and its components can provide graduates the opportunity to join the Register of Veterinary Nurses on successful completion of all parts. There are a range of assessments, including assignments, examinations, work based placement and progress log.

Entry requirements

Students must be employed in a Veterinary Practice able to support the training process and meet the entry criteria required to register as a Student Veterinary Nurse with the RCVs, the regulatory* arm of the Veterinary nursing profession. This includes a minimum of 5 GCSEs at C grade including English, Maths and Science or equivalent.
