Course description

A student who wishes to study full-time to progress to university courses having recently achieved a range of GCSE qualifications.

AS Psychology Specification - 2180 Examining Board - AQA Unit 1 - Cognitive Psychology: Memory and Eye Witness Testimony Developmental Psychology: Attachments in Babies and Young Children Research Methods Unit 2 - Psychological Differences: Stress in Everyday Life Individual Differences: Abnormality and Treating Disorders Social Psychology: Social Influences in Everyday Life

Entry requirements

GCSE grades A*-C in at least six academic subjects in one sitting, including GCSE English and Maths plus additional Science (one at Grade B).

Assessment

Assessment will be through: 2 x 1.5 hour exams in January and June.

Financial information

Yes, you will be expected to purchase a set textbook to use in class and for individual study. You will be advised as to which textbook to purchase at the start of the course.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course, you may progress to Year 2 of the A Level programme to take A2 subjects according to the subjects and grades that you have achieved.
