The BTEC Level 3 in Manufacturing Engineering is designed to give you the knowledge, understanding and skills that you need to prepare for employment within the engineering sector. The course will appeal to you if you are interested in engineering tasks and how engineering products are designed and made.
You will study:
1st Year – Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering
The 60-credit BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma extends the specialist work-related focus of the BTEC Level 3 Certificate and covers the knowledge and practical skills required in the appropriate vocational sector. The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma offers greater flexibility and a choice of emphasis through the optional units. It is broadly equivalent to one A Level.

2nd Year – Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering
BTEC Level 3 Diploma broadens and expands the specialist work-related focus from the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma

- Engineering Project
- Mathematics for Engineering Technicians
- Computer Aided Drafting in Engineering
- Manufacturing Planning
All units are internally assessed.
On successful completion of this course, you could progress to employment or apply to join the Edexcel BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering course.
You will need four GCSEs at grade C and above in Maths and Science (Engineering and Design Technology will also be considered), a positive school report and the successful completion of an interview with an admissions tutor, or completion of PEO level 1.
