Art & Design Level 2 UAL Diploma at Havering College of Further and Higher Education

Course description

You will attend practical lessons that serve as an opportunity to develop your skills in a variety of artistic disciplines. Alongside these lessons you will also participate in theory based sessions that will broaden your knowledge of the industry as a whole.

Course content

You can expect to cover the following:

  • 3D Design
  • Fine Art
  • Graphic Design
  • Photography
  • Printmaking
  • Ceramics

The historical and design aspects of the course will be complemented by critical studies with visits to galleries and exhibitions. There will also be sessions aimed at developing your communication skills within art & design.

If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).

Entry requirements

  • Level 1 diploma in a related subject or equivalent qualification
  • Portfolio of your art and design work


You will be assessed through written and practical assignments.

Future opportunities

You can progress onto our level 3 courses in art, fashion and graphic design.

Employment opportunities could involve work as a designer, photographer, artist etc.
