Creative Media Production Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at Preston's College
If you have an interest in film making and television production this highly vocational and practical course will give you the skills, knowledge and confidence to work within this industry. You will gain practical experience in the planning, management and filming video productions in a range of styles and formats.
You will have the opportunity to develop a range of skills in our excellent facilities that include recording studios, editing suites and a fully functioning television studio which you will learn to operate and work with.
You will also learn the theory aspect of the subject that will underpin the practical knowledge you will gain.
You will cover the technical skills, theoretical knowledge, creative approach and software applications which underpin the creative media industries. Subjects studied include communication, planning productions, single and multi camera production, film and video editing and digital graphic work.
You need five GCSE’s (or equivalent) at A*-C grade. A GCSE at grade C in either English or maths with a minimum grade D for the other subject.
The course is divided up into 18 units over the two year period. These units will be delivered by our experienced team of staff and will be assessed separately. You will be assessed on the outcomes produced from projects, briefs and ongoing coursework within these units. You will be given interim deadlines, verbal and written feedback, one to ones and final deadlines in order for you to achieve the best grades possible.
