Course description

The IT BTEC Subsidiary Diploma course offers a real opportunity to enter employment in the Information Technology sector or to progress to higher education, where it underpins many subjects. Equivalent to one A Level, the Subsidiary Diploma course will enable you to gain the skills and confidence you need to succeed in this field. This course consists of six units that allow you to develop the vital skills that employers are looking for. You will learn how to create professional graphic images, develop an interactive website and use your problem-solving skills to put together a virtual tour of the school. There are no written examination papers for this course, as assessment is ongoing through set assignments that are completed for each unit. These may consist of individual or varied group activities, allowing you to develop skills used in the IT industry. The units are assessed at Pass, Merit or Distinction standard. The initial units are designed to give you a foundation in Information Technology and how employers choose the right candidate for their company.
